Miah Williamsen - Clinical Nutritionist Portland

Clinical Nutritionist

Miah Williamsen, MScN, earned a master of science in nutrition from National University of Natural Medicine, in Portland, Oregon, where she studied clinical nutrition from “food is medicine” philosophy, with an emphasis on food psychology, intuitive eating, therapeutic diets, and culinary nutrition. Miah also holds a certification in integrative nutrition health coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and applies her skills and knowledge to help her clients heal their complex relationships with food, regain their health and happiness, and enjoy all of the delicious things that life has to offer.

Her food philosophy is simple: eating whole, unprocessed foods, and doing so with intention, is the most effective and satisfying way to nourish the body, the mind, and the soul. She believes that there are no “good” or “bad” foods. Rather, there are foods that make our bodies (and minds) feel good, and other foods that make our bodies feel terrible. As a nutritionist and health coach, Miah teaches her patients how to eat with intention and listen to how their bodies react to different foods in order to regain their optimal health.

Miah designs personalized nutrition plans to meet each client’s individual dietary preferences, lifestyle, and health goals as well as counseling patients to help address:

  • Disordered eating, eating disorders, and complicated food relationships
  • Food allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities
  • Hormone imbalances
  • “Adrenal fatigue”
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Gastrointestinal conditions (SIBO, IBS, Celiac, etc)
  • Metabolic conditions (including diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol)

In addition to one-on-one sessions, Miah also teaches group courses and workshops covering a wide range of nutrition and wellness topics.
